Sherman Parker
Sherman Parker is the Republican candidate for state representative in St. Charles' 12th district. Sherman has worked on both the legislative and campaign staffs for Missouri's conservatives Senator Kit Bond, former Senator John Ashcroft, and former Congressman Jim Talent. Sherman hasbeen a leader in Missouri politics on a wide array of issues concerning the nation and the state of Missouri.
Sherman attended the University of Vermont where he received a Bachelor of Arts Diploma in North and South American History and Political Science. During Sherman's junior year he attended the St. Louis University in Madrid, Spain. In 1996 Sherman work as an Account Controller for five of Merrill Lynch's Money Market Mutual Funds and volunteered on Massachusetts Governor William Weld's Senatorial Campaign. Sherman is a member of the executive staff of UniGroup, Inc. UniGroup, Inc is the parent company of United Van Lines, Mayflower and other subsidiaries which support the worldwide operations of these two leading household goods transportation companies.
Sherman served as Field Representative for both Senators Bond and Ashcroft. Where he coordinated local media relations and represented the Senators in the St. Louis metropolitan area and 17 counties in Northeast Missouri. During this time, Sherman worked closely with Senator Bond's District Office Director, current Missouri House of Representative Minority Leader Catherine Hanaway and Senator Ashcroft's Deputy Chief of Staff, present Republican National Committee Deputy Chairman Jack Oliver. In 1998 Sherman was recruited to work on Senator Bond's re-election campaign where he designed and implemented a statewide strategy to mobilize the non-traditional Republican voters. This effort, lead by Sherman, had a direct impact Senator Bond's decisive re-election victory in 1998 and established Sherman as one of the active leaders in the Missouri Republican Party.
From 1999-2001, Sherman served as Jim Talent's Special Assistant and acted as the primary surrogate for Congressman Talent, communicating to constituents the Congressman's policies and positions on a broad range of issues in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Sherman was also responsible for the Congressman's personal schedule and correspondence. Sherman has designed and implemented Jim Talent's American Community Renewal Act outreach program in St. Louis and Kansas City, MO. He has also constructed and maintained coalitions among the clergy, local political leaders, and grassroots/community leaders in St. Louis and Kansas City.
Sherman Thompson Parker was born August 28, 1971 in St. Louis, MO. He now resides in St. Charles County.
